Riches
Africa has many riches, both material and human.
Values
Perhaps Africa's greatest riches are its values. I have tried to express some of them.
Problems
Despite its riches, Africa has many problems that are often worse than elsewhere in the world.
Causes
These problems have both natural and human causes:
Environment
The African environment is often a harsh place to live and work.
Foreigners
Often foreigners have made and continue to make the lives of Africans worse instead of better.
US
The United States deserves criticism for worsening problems in many African countries.
Africans
Africans themselves are also responsible for their conditions.
Policies
US and other non-African governments and agencies should improve their policies toward Africa.
